It’s Been a Minute.

Hey everyone 👋🏼

Yes, it’s been a few minutes since I’ve posted something on here. I’ve been active, just not really actively posting. My bad!

You may have heard a little something about this one social media site being purchased by some super-rich person. If you haven’t heard about it, it’s a thing. Trust me.

Anyway, since that purchase was made, I have started looking for an alternate social media site to jump onto, and I’ve finally settled on it: Mastodon.

Well, let me rephrase that a bit: Mastodon isn’t really a social media SITE, but rather a protocol that someone can use to create their own social media site, known as an instance. Each instance theoretically has the ability to interact with every other instance out there, to form what’s called the ‘fediverse’ (I swear, I didn’t make it up; I think it stems from ‘federated universe’). Users from one instance can interact/follow with people within their own instance, and do the same with people in other instances. It’s been very interesting, and kinda reminds me of a particular social media site in its early days.

Why am I telling you all of this?

Being over there in the ‘fediverse’ has been rather freeing. I am finding and connecting with ALL sorts of people I likely never would have found otherwise, and it’s SO inspiring. I feel so very fluid there to just go wherever the flow takes me. I absolutely love it.

I can almost feel my creativity blocks starting to melt away and dissolve. I’ve even found some writing instances to follow people on, and hopefully all of that creativity floating around will rub off on me.

If any of you are already out there, or if you are willing to take the plunge (there is a bit of a learning curve, but hey, we all had to figure out the other site in the beginning too, amirite?), please feel free to follow me. You can find me by using my username and instance, which is:
