Forever in my head I say “wed-NESS-day” whenever I type it out…
Yeah, methinks my brain is going to be all over the map on this post.
So, happy Wed-nes-day! 😜 I’m back from my long weekend of birthday hijinx and shenanigans. No, not really, but I actually DID do stuff. The family took me to an escape room (Breakout Games) on Saturday evening, which was hilarious and fun. The name of this particular room that we did was titled:
Kidnapping 2: Afraid of the Dark
If you were wondering if the title of the room is an accurate description, then you would be correct. You start off in the room blindfolded, and IN COMPLETE DARKNESS. Through using lots of intellect, intelligence, and even more hints from the game master (😉), we managed to escape the room with about 8 minutes to spare.
Yesterday, on my ACTUAL birthday, we headed out to a place called Drive Shack. If you are familiar with what Top Golf is, then it’s a competitor, and exactly the same thing. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s basically an outdoor multi-level bar/restaurant/driving range, with various targets and “hazards” strewn about. I hadn’t played any sort of golf in who-knows-how-long, and it was a lot of fun. It was even MORE fun having a couple of obligatory celebratory cocktails 🤣
ANKLE UPDATE: My follow up appointment had to be rescheduled from next month, and I was lucky enough to squeeze in on Monday. The bad news? I feel like my recovery has plateaued, and isn’t really getting any better. So, I’ve scheduled to have an MRI done next Monday evening. We’ll see what happens…
To get all think-y and stuff for a moment, I had a pretty pleasant surprise during my time off, especially Monday and Tuesday. For the longest time, I felt pretty alone in having my birthday in February, and near the end of the month, for that matter. However, browsing around a bit on Instagram, and especially on Threads, I found TONS of people who shared my birthday, and I felt very NOT so alone. Happy birthday again to all of my Feb. 27th counterparts out there! 🥂
Also during that time, I was browsing through profiles on LinkedIn, and came across a friend’s post where they had purchased a couple of really old typewriters (from the 1940s!), and spent time to tear them down and restore them to working order. I’m not really sure why, but this REALLY fascinated me for some reason. So much so, in fact, that I was wishing how I had a typewriter of my own that I could use to type up blog posts and such, so I could hear that CLACK CLACK CLACKING of the keys, and the DINGING of the bell as I reached the margin of the page.
Then, reality stepped in for a moment: that was a great idea and all, but exactly HOW would I post PHYSICAL typewritten post on my DIGITAL blog? Durrrrrr… 🙈
I still can’t stop thinking about that CLACK CLACK CLACKING and DINGING, though…
