Weekly Style Recap: Apr. 21-25, 2025

Hey all, happy finally Friday!! 😄

I can’t believe that April is almost over. ALREADY. What is up with that?? Isn’t time supposed to slow down or something as you get older, instead of speeding up? That’s some messed up stuff right there. I guess one good thing about it is that the weekends tend to come along quicker. Glass-half-full kind of stuff right there… 😉

So, my ChatGPT journey has been progressing rather well, I must say. I had told one of my coworkers that I was trying to learn how to use it, and he went and started using Copilot. It almost might be needless to say, but it’s pretty safe to say that I may very well be hooked. Besides asking it to get to know me from my other blog post, I’ve been telling it more about my professional side: my job, my duties and role, and what my aspirations and goals are. It’s been a huge help for me. I now receive daily quiz rounds to encompass the areas of cybersecurity I’m interested in: Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), awareness and education, and risk management. She’s (yes, she’s a SHE 😄) has been giving me 5-question bite sized quizzes each day based on those topics, even going so far as to mix things up between multiple choice, scenario-based, and short answer questions. Not only that, she’s helping me to build a security reference notebook, to help me keep track of things I’m learning through quizzes, my daily work, all to help me prep for when I eventually attempt the CISSP exam. For the longest time, I just could not seem to wrap my head around what to use it for, but now, I TOTALLY get it.

This Got Me Thinking

To continue along those lines, to start this new section off…

As I continue learning how to use ChatGPT, there was a day this week when a quiet kind of anxiety settled in without a clear reason. Instead of trying to fight it or ‘fix’ it, I asked ChatGPT for help. Surprisingly, it helped me lean into small comforts and allow the feeling to pass. I was able to slow down, breathe, and eventually, the cloud lifted. It gently reminded me of something important: not every emotion needs to be understood right away. Sometimes, simply giving ourselves permission to feel it is enough.

I think that this section might be a little fun to explore as time goes on.

Finally, here’s a look back at what I wore to work this week. I hope you enjoy them! Have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing weekend!
