Oh, thank goodness it’s Friday! It’s been a rather busy and challenging week, and I’m honestly rather exhausted, and ready to spend the next two days pretty much being a vegetable. 😂
It’s still rather surprising to me how one can become drained and exhausted by just mentally doing stressful or challenging things. I’m actually almost sweating at this very moment! If I think about it, I guess it still takes energy to be so focused or stressed about something(s), but I digress. That’s why I’m not working in the medical field. 😜
In work news, the customer wiki site I set up in SharePoint has been officially announced to the departments, which so far has been extremely well-received, so yay me! 🥳 I absolutely believe in helping customers help themselves by giving them tools and documents to accomplish some things that don’t really need a call to the service desk to have a tech come out and do for them. I must be a sucker for punishment, because I honestly rather enjoy doing the SharePoint-type stuff. It’s very WordPress-like, but still falls very short of what it can do in comparison to WordPress.
Cybersecurity related, there’s a term I’ve been hearing/seeing a LOT about this week:
Insider threat.
Sometimes, these are the most dangerous threats to an organization. Why? Because they already work on the inside. They aren’t on the outside trying to manipulate a person to do dastardly things for them. They may already have the accounts and the access needed to do bad things, depending on their role.
Now, there are two different kinds of insider threats. First, there are the kind who do something malicious intentionally (for example, a recently terminated employee who has not yet had their access revoked to systems). Second, the kind who does something unintentionally that has causes havoc (such as someone in payroll who mistakenly deletes a file that pays employees). Both of them are on opposite ends of the spectrum, but can have equally damaging effects.
I also came across a couple of new security-related podcasts that I’m happy to share. From Apple Podcasts:
- Cyber Sisters – Cyber Sisters is the bold new series from Cyber News Group. Offering a deep dive into the biggest issues impacting global security, this innovative series features raw, thought-provoking conversations with some of the most influential voices shaping the industry. Led by two of the field’s most respected experts, Sarah Armstrong-Smith and Lisa Forte, Cyber Sisters explores today’s biggest challenges and emerging trends.
- Shut the Backdoor – Welcome to Shut the Backdoor, brought to you by Redox. Shut the Backdoor is a healthcare security podcast dedicated to keeping health data safe, one episode at a time. Hosted by Jody Maberry and Meghan McLeod and featuring special guests to discuss the most critical topics for healthcare security.
These are both relatively new, and I would highly recommend giving them a listen.
(I’m trying to consciously put more effort into talking about cybersecurity things on my blog, as I try to progress further down that career path. My fashion/style followers, bear with me!)
Last, but certainly not least, it’s time to take a look back at what I wore to work this week. I only have three days worth of outfits, as I work remotely on Wednesdays, and I was rained out on Monday (surprisingly hard to take outfit pictures in the pouring rain 😂). I think I may be going back to my previous ways of taking wide angle outfit pictures, as I had forgotten how much I like how they look. I hope you enjoy them, as well as everything else I try to come up with each week. Have a wonderful weekend!
